Edith F. Wellman, 92 of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at her home. She was born June 24, 1929, to Ernest & Ella (Messenger) Prigge in Syracuse. Edith graduated from Syracuse High School. On December 12, 1959, she married Duane Wellman at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse.

Edith and Duane worked together on their farm near Burr and ran a Grade A dairy. They also owned a variety store in Burr in the 1970s. Edith worked for Wheaton's in Syracuse as well. She loved to sew and made many quilts over the years. Her other love was baking and she made many cookies to send to her sons while they were stationed overseas. After retirement, she enjoyed going on bus tours and having coffee with the ladies.

She is survived by her Son: Garry Wellman of La Vista; Grandchildren: Traci (Mitch) Grummert of Gretna, Ricky Wellman of Waverly, Stacey Wellman of Omaha, Rebecca Lantz of Omaha, Matt (Sarah) Wellman of Adams; Great Grandchildren: Eric (Sara) Bridgmon, Bronx Grummert, Brionna McClendon, Conner McClendon, Angelica Wellman, Colton Wellman, April Zaruba, Lindsay Michler, Jeffrey Wellman, Justin Hodge; Great Great Grandchildren: Brantley & Jesse Bridgmon; Sister-in-law: Lois Wellman of Auburn; also many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Sons: Richard & Jimmy Wellman; Granddaughter: Jodi Messer; Siblings: Edward Prigge, Helen (Johnny) Meyer; Brother-in-law: Donald Wellman.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 20 at 10 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse. The service will be live streamed on the St. John's United Church of Christ Facebook page. Burial will follow at the Park Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday, November 19 from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to St. John's United Church of Christ.
