Edna "Helen" Jones was born on June 14, 1923 in Iberia, Missouri to Elmer and Brooks (McCubbin) Slone.  She died at the Care Community in Louisville, Nebraska on June 4, 2018 at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 21 days.

Helen married Farris Jones on November 20, 1946 in Columbus, Kansas and after the death of 2 babies they had David. She moved to Oklahoma after her husband's death on December 25, 1977, where son David was stationed in the Air Force. She became a nanny for two young girls helping raise them until they graduated from high school. In December 1992, Helen came to live in Nebraska.  She enjoyed quilting with the Dorcas Quilting Group at the First Christian Church. She served on the Senior Center Board of Directors, and belonged to the Royal Neighbors of America.

Helen is survived by her son David and wife Brenda Jones of Louisville, 3 grandsons, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren on the way, 1 sister – Rosalee Jones and 1 niece, Donna McConnaughhay.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Farris Jones, and 2 babies.



A celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church in Louisville, NE.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 11th from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M. with family present from 6-9 P.M. at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, 413 Elm St. Louisville, NE.

Burial will be June 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Hickory Point Cemetery in Iberia, Missouri.
