Edward Kepler was born August 13, 1931, in Avoca, Nebraska, to William and Sophie (Buchholz) Kepler. Ed passed away, Saturday, February 6th, 2010, at the Johnson County Hospital, Tecumseh, Nebraska, at the age of 78 years.
Edward married Helen Harms, on June 28, 1951, at First Lutheran Church, (North Branch), Rural Avoca, Nebraska, and to this union they raised 3 Children Bruce, Boyd, and Gary. He lived on the farm South of Syracuse, Nebraska, since 1960. Edward was a member of the Nebraska City Eagles Club #908, he enjoyed farming very much and enjoyed being around his animals & especially enjoyed dancing.
Edward is survived by his sons Boyd & wife Wendy Kepler, of Cook, NE, Gary & wife Marsha Kepler, of Avoca, NE, 3 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren, special friend Marion Diers, of Syracuse, NE, Brother Elmer & wife Doris Kepler, of Avoca, NE sister Edna Compton, of Lees Summit, MO sister-in-law Dawnie Kepler, of Safe Harbor, FL, along with many other relatives and many friends.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, son Bruce, brothers Harry, Henry, John, & Willie, sisters Nelli, Minnie, & Adela.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 2:00 P.M., at the Christ Lutheran Church (Deleware), rural Syracuse, NE with burial at the Church Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Avoca Town Hall, in Avoca, NE.
Visitation will be Monday February 8, from 3:00 until 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 9, from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. and Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. all at the Funeral Home, and the Casket will be open one hour before church services.
