Edwin D. Pharaoh was born November 29, 1933, in Auburn, Nebraska, to William and Dorothy (Aufenkamp) Pharaoh. He passed away Monday, May 18, 2009, at his home, in Springfield, Nebraska, at the age of 75 years, 5 months, and 26 days.
Ed married Erma Cox, on August 20, 1955, in Ashland, Nebraska, and to this union they raised
3 children Edwin Eugene, Patty Jo, and JoAnn Lynn. He was a member of the Springfield First United Methodist Church, Gem and Mineral Club of Omaha and loved the outdoors, gardening, flowers, rock hunting, hunting and fishing. Ed worked as a Teacher for 33 years, teaching science – 27 years at Platteview High School in Springfield.
Ed is survived by his wife, Erma of Springfield, NE, 3 children – Edwin Eugene and wife, Karen of Grand Island, Patty Jo and husband Robert E. Hall of Bellevue, JoAnn Lynn and husband, Miroslaw Birlet of Indian Trail, North Carolina. 6 grandchildren – Sarah Hall, Nathan Hall, Michelle Birlet, Monica Birlet, ChristopherBirlet, and Shannon Birlet. Brother – William Q. Pharoah of Roseville, California
Ed is preceded in death parents, sister – Dorothy June Summers of Ventura California, and grandson – Josh Perry of Grand Island. From 1975-2004, Edwin and his wife ran Custom Gems – a gem and jewelry store in Omaha, NE
Funeral Services will be Friday, May 22, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, Springfield, NE, with burial at the Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, NE
