Elaine Louise Zahn, age 92, died April 11, 2023, at Linden View in Syracuse, Nebraska. She was born January 15, 1931, at Genoa, Nebraska to Louis & Myrtle (Welin) Bokelman. She came to Syracuse in 1948 for employment, met and was united in marriage to Robert Zahn in 1951. The couple moved to the family farm which was established by Robert's grandparents in 1880. Here they raised their four sons, David, James, Ronald and Gregg. Elaine worked at the Good Samaritan Center, and the Medical Center for many years. Upon her retirement she enjoyed her family, friends and volunteer work.

She is survived by her sons David (Julie) of Syracuse, James (Carole) of Omaha, Ronald (Barbara) and Gregg (Michelle) both of Syracuse; fifteen grandchildren & step grandchildren Mallory (David) Carstens, Emily (Joshua) States Andrew Zahn & (Shannon McKinley), Nathan Zahn, Jessica (Daniel) Gibson, Justin (Rachael) Zahn, Curt (Maggie) Neujahr, Kari (Tony) Byrd, Rachel Zahn, Katy (Ben) Biehl, Noah (Jessie) Zahn, Brianna Berner & (Adam Verna), Brynne Berner, Aaron Zahn, Mikayla Zahn & (Michael Ennis); twenty-one great grandchildren & step great grandchildren, two sisters: Bernetta Berlin and Aleta Heins both of Columbus, Nebraska, one brother-in-law Donald Niebrugge of Sabetha, Kansas, and several nieces and nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Robert; her parents; father and mother-in-law Walter and Irma Zahn; two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 15 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse. The service will be livestreamed on St. John's UCC Facebook page. Burial will take place Saturday at 10:00 AM at Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 14 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. all at St. John's UCC in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to Hope Garden or St. John's UCC.
