Ellen Marie Stubbendick, 91 of Omaha formerly of Syracuse passed away on July 8, 2015 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha. She was born on March 28, 1924 to Friedrick & Mamie (Puvogel) Winter in Crete, Nebraska.
Ellen Marie was baptized on April 20, 1924 and was confirmed on May 16, 1937. She married Irving Stubbendick on November 30, 1943 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Crete, Ne. Ellen's early years of marriage to Irving were spent helping out on the farm. After moving to Syracuse, she went to work at American Meter for 8 years. Ellen's favorite hobbies while being a housewife were: quilting, baking pies and cinnamon rolls for everyone. She was a member at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Luther Memorial quilters and American Legion Auxiliary.
Ellen Marie is survived by Husband: Irving of Omaha formerly of Syracuse; Children: Sharon (David) Dickman of Omaha, Norman (Andrea) Stubbendick of Buxton, ME, Mary Ellen Seavey of Waterloo, IA; 4 Granddaughters, 8 Great Grandchildren, also many nieces, nephews & friends.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Sisters: Delores Wilken, Velda Kempke, Dorothea Johns, Brother: Fred Winter Jr., Granddaughter: Kristy Richmond, Son-in-law: Paul Seavey.
Funeral Services will be held on July 10, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse.
Burial will be at Park Hill cemetery in Syracuse.
Memorials are suggested to Lutheran Memorial Lutheran Church or the Syracuse Food Pantry.
Visitation will be held 1 hour before the start of the services at the church with family greeting friends.
