Ellsworth Frederick Stohlmann was born December 31, 1917 to August Frederick Stohlmann and Mary Louise (Jochim) Stohlmann,in rural Louisville, NE. Ellsworth "Ellsie" went to be with our Lord on September 30, 2011 at the age of 93 years, 9 months, 1 day.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Louisville. He graduated from the Louisville High School and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, was a member of the University Men's Glee Club, and he also joined the ROTC while at the University. Ellsworth was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1940 thru 1945 during WWII in the European Theater of Operations.
He married Norma G. Luby on April 11, 1942. They were divorced March 3, 1948. To this marriage was born Danny Ellsworth Stohlmann, who died on March 13, 1994 and Carolyn Sue Stohlmann.

On November 20, 1955 he married Doris Mae Noerrlinger. To this marriage was born a son, Dennis Frederick, and two daughters, Sheila Mae and Lori Jayne.

Ellsworth farmed the family homestead with his father until he married Doris at which time his parents moved to Louisville. He then farmed with Doris until 1961 when they moved to Louisville, where he worked for Ash Grove Cement Company until he retired in December 1982.

Ellsworth was a life long member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and served as secretary for several years. He also served on the Louisville Town Board and as Cub Scout Pack Master, and has been a long-time member of the American Legion Post 353. He enjoyed playing cards, whistling, yard work, wood-working, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and family.

He is survived by his wife Doris, Daughter-in-Law; Shirley Stohlmann of Louisville, NE; Children; Carolyn and husband Maurice Lange of Hallam, NE, Dennis and Michele Stohlmann of Blue Springs, MO, Sheila Stohlmann of Blue Springs, MO, and Lori and husband Paul Hosford of Albion, NE; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; Louise, Matilda, and Dorothy, 4 brothers; August, Arnold, Clarence, and Orland; and son, Danny.

Funeral Services will be Friday, October 7, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 36712 Church Road, Louisville; NE. Interment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church, or Families Choice.

Visitation will be at the on Thursday, October 6 2011, from 12:00 until 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. all at the Funeral Home.
