Elmer H. Meyer, age 92, went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 12, 2011. He was born to the late Herman and Emma Meyer in Southeast, Nebraska on March 28, 1919. Elmer grew up on a farm in Nebraska. He maintained his own farm for many years before moving to Columbus, OH. Elmer was a member of Redeemer Lutheran in Columbus and a life-long member of Hope Lutheran Church in Burr, NE. He served as a 4-H Club leader and helped establish The Good Samaritan Home in Syracuse, NE. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Meyer; grandson, Jonathan Meyer; brothers, John and Harvey Meyer. He is survived by children, Rev. Dr. Nelson (Shirley) Meyer and Myra Kay (Rev. Dr. Philip) Baker; 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 10:00am-11:00am Friday, August 19, 2011 at Hope Lutheran Church, Burr, NE, where service will be held at 11:00am. Pastor Jim Helgren officiating. Interment at Hope Lutheran Cemetery in Burr, NE. Pallbearers will be Gene Watermeier, Frank Schulze, Junior Watermeier, Bob Bryan, Orlin Moss, Neil Stedman and Roger Pieper. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Elmer and Maria Meyer Student Aid Fund at Wartburg Theological Seminary, P.O. Box 5004 Dubuque, Iowa 52004.
