Elmer Stillahn was born on September 11, 1919 in rural Lorton, Nebraska to George and Nora (Beckfield) Stillahn. He passed away on Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Ceneter in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 25 days.
Elmer grew up on a farm north of the Delaware Church. He was baptized and confirmed at the Delaware Church. He received his education at the District 90 school and graduated from Syracuse High School. After high school, he began his farming career. On December 12, 1940 he was united in marriage to Lois Gellerman and they lived on the farm where Lois grew up for 43 years and then moved to Syracuse in 1984 to enjoy their retirement.
Elmer enjoyed going to town for coffee, visiting with friends and playing cards. He was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse.
He is survived by Sisters: Ruby Roos & Irene Reimer both of Syracuse, NE; Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse, Nebraska with Rev. Paul Coen officiating.
Friends may sign the register book on Friday, April 10, 2009 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Inurnment will be in the Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, Nebraska
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be directed to Luther Memorial Lutheran Church.
