Obituary

Emma H. Bartels was born September 7, 1915, in rural Syracuse, Nebraska, to Christian & Helena (Hauschild) Reimer. She passed away, Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Center, in Syracuse, Nebraska, at the age of 94 years, 6 months, and 4 days.

Emma married Alton Henry Bartels here at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, and to this union they raised 2 children Larry, and Karen. She was a Farm wife & Former employee of the Good Samaritan Center. Emma was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Syracuse, NE, Church Circle, Women of the ELCA. She enjoyed her Card Clubs, baking & canning, bowling, needlework and she was a excellent gardener and especially enjoyed her flowers. Emma enjoyed being with her Grandkids as much as she could!

Emma is survived by her son Larry & wife Ginny Bartels, of Syracuse, NE, daughter Karen Blacker, of Scottsdale, AZ, 2 grandsons Robert & Mary Blacker, of Naperville, IL, Mark & Jonni Blacker, of Sachse, TX, 2 granddaughters Julie & husband Kevin Bosworth, of Olathe, KS, and Jennifer & Greg Isaacs, Vienna, VA, 6 Great grandchildren, Sisters-in-law Irene Reimer, of Syracuse, NE, Leona Kirby, of Hendersonville, NC, also survived by other relatives & friends.

Emma is preceded in Death by her parents, husband Alton Henry Bartels 10-17-1997, and granddaughter Janet Bartels, son-in-law Sam Blacker, brothers Alvin Reimer, Walter Reimer, Arthur Reimer, sisters Clara Janssen, Leta Brinkman, Ella Post, & Lorena Knickman.


Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Syracuse, Nebraska, with burial at the Park Hill Cemetery. Family suggest Memorials to Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Syracuse, Nebraska.

VISITATION Friday, March 12th from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M., and the Casket will be open hour before Church Service
