Enid Holoubek, 82, of Maytown, PA, formerly of Plattsmouth, passed away on October 12, 2009 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy, PA. She was the beloved wife of Leonard Holoubek, Commander US Navy (ret.) to whom she was married for 54 years.
Enid was a 1946 graduate of Plattsmouth High School. Later she worked for the Glenn L. Martin Bomber Plant in Fort Crook, and the Omaha Public Power Company of Omaha. An avid reader, Enid enjoyed sewing and quilting. In 1988, she and her husband moved to Annapolis, MD, where they resided until moving to Maytown, PA in 1995.
Born on April 27, 1927 in Sunborne County, South Dakota she was the daughter of the late John B. and Melinda Ahrens.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Alan (Renee Belleville) Holoubek, of Redwood City, CA, Daniel (Dorothea Stinchcomb) Holoubek of Severna Park, MD, Michael Holoubek of Towson MD, Cynthia (Gary) LaBuda of Marietta, PA, and Joseph Holoubek of Arnold, MD; nine grandchildren, Megan, Daniel, Jr., Gretchen, Michael, Jr., Kathryn, Michelle, and Alexander Holoubek, and David and Rachel LaBuda; and two sisters, Maybelle Bridge of Norfolk, NE and Joyce Savage of Atlanta, GA.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Fusselman-Wymore Funeral Home, 306 N. 7th St., Plattsmouth, on Sunday, October 25, at 4:30 pm. Friends may visit with Enid's family at the Funeral Home from 3:30 until 4:30 pm. Interment is private in Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth.
