Obituary, Ervin H. Brockhoff,
age 76 Syracuse NE

Ervin Harry Brockhoff was born on June 1st, 1931 on a farm near Elmwood NE. He died on September 21st 2007 at the Nebraska Heart Institute at the age of 76.
Ervin was baptized on June 28th, 1931 and was confirmed on May 20th, 1945 at First Lutheran Church, Avoca NE where he was an active life-long member. He served on various boards and committees of the church.
Ervin Graduate from Elmwood High School in 1949. He served in the military, stationed in Germany and was a member of American Legion Post 247 and VFW post 9099.
On August 26th, 1957 Ervin married JoAnn Meyer at the UCC church in Hallam NE. To their marriage three children were born. Ervin farmed near Elmwood and Avoca NE in partnership with his brothers, and also had a corn shelling business. In 1997 Ervin and JoAnn moved to Syracuse NE. He worked part time at Norman's IGA in Nebraska City until February of 2007.
He is survived by wife JoAnn (Meyer) Brockhoff of Syracuse; two sons Merle Brockhoff and wife Elizabeth of Kansas City, Alan Brockhoff and wife Brenda of Murdock, and one daughter, Karen Schweitzer and husband Ronald of Otoe; two Brothers, Ralph and wife Linda (Faller) Brockhoff and Norman Brockhoff, both of Elmwood; and five grandchildren.
Ervin was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Letha (Knoop) Brockhoff.
Services will be held at First Lutheran Church (North Branch) of Avoca NE on Monday, September 24th at 10:30 a.m.
