Ervin John Hansen was born on July 14, 1916 in Sarpy County, Nebraska to Peter & Marie Hansen. He passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at Brookestone Meadows in Elkhorn, Nebraska at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 9 days.

After graduating from High School, Ervin met Edna Carlburg at a local dance, they were married a short four month later on August 21, 1940 in Hebron, Nebraska. They recently celebrated 68 years of marriage. Ervin enlisted in the Army during World War II and served in the 599th Antiaircraft Artilery Automatic Weapons Battalion for three years in Europe. He returned home from the war and went to work for a short time at the Burlington Railroad Shops in Plattsmouth. Ervin then bought a restaurant in Omaha which he and Edna ran for several years. After selling the restaurant he began a long career of building and selling homes in the Gretna and Omaha areas.

He was a member of the Gretna American Legion Post #216.

He is survived by : Wife: Edna Hansen of Omaha, NE; Brother: Melvin Hansen of Denver, CO; Brother-in-law: Elmer Hansen of Denver, CO; Nieces: Cindy Alexander and Lori Hansen; Nephews: John Hansen, Larry Hansen, Allan Hansen, Steven Hansen

She was preceded in death by Parents, Sisters: Maxine Hansen and Margaret Hansen; Brothers: Lloyd, Earl and Lester Hansen

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plattsmouth, NE with Dr. Allan Wooters officiating.
