Esther M. Janssen age 98, of Syracuse, Nebraska, who died, Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center, Syracuse, NE. She was born November 22, 1909, in Talmage, NE, to Fred and Katheran (Albrecht) Winkelhake.

Esther married John B. Janssen, on June 3, 1929, in Iowa and to this union they raised three children Robert, Duane, and Ruth. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware), Syracuse, NE, and loved playing cards, Bingo. She always had a garden, vegetables, and flowers, and had pies for the Church Luncheon's at Sales.

Esther is survived by her children Robert and wife Mary Janssen, of Las Vegas, NV, Duane and wife Kathy Janssen, of Syracuse, NE, and Ruth Ann Peterson, of Nebraska City, NE, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren, also cousins, Nieces and nephews.

Esther is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John in 1981, sister Ila Heinke, and son-in-law Kenneth Peterson.

Esther's Funeral Service will be Monday, June 2, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.
at the Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware) 708 S. 40 Road, Syracuse, NE, with burial at Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware) Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 1, 2008 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 6 until 8 P.M. all at the funeral home, and the casket will be open one hour before services at the Church.
