Evelyn Pearl Gerking of Cook, Nebraska was born on April 12, 1919 in Rural Burr, Nebraska to Ben & Mary (Homier) Spanjer. She passed away at Belle Terrace in Tecumseh, Nebraska on Saturday March 2, 2013 at the age of 93 years, 10 months, and 18 days.

Evelyn married Charles Gerking on September 15, 1940 in Cook, Nebraska and to this union 3 sons were born Bruce, Lowell and Les. Evelyn worked at Pratt's Grocery Store and at Tangeman Grain. She was involved with church quilting.

Evelyn is survived by Sons Bruce & Nancy Gerking, Lowell & Carol Gerking, Les & Kris Gerking, 7 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren, Sister Oneida Turner, Many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceeded in death by her Husband Charles Gerking, Parents Ben & Mary Spanjer, and Sister Marcella Humber.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday March 6, 2013 at 2 P.M. at Grace Lutheran Church in Cook, Nebraska with burial to follow at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Rural Cook. Rev. Jim Helgren will be officiating.

Visitation will be on Tuesday March 5 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6 until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial to the family's choice.
