Evelyn M. (Reuter) Keim was born on August 19, 1924, to William and Clara (Pieper) Reuter. She passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, just shy of her 99th birthday. Evelyn graduated from Syracuse High School in 1942. She then attended Lincoln School of Commerce and after receiving her diploma, worked for Capital Engraving for 2 years. Evelyn then returned to Syracuse to work for Eastern Nebraska Public Power (which is now Omaha Public Power).
She married LeRoy Keim on October 3, 1948. In 1962 they started their farm implement business, first with Massey Ferguson and then International Harvester in 1983 and Case in 1985. Evelyn & LeRoy worked side by side. She did the bookkeeping and helped with the parts department. After retirement she still remained involved in the family business.
She is survived by her children Bruce (Carlene) Keim of Syracuse, Dennis Keim of Lincoln, Karen (Scott) Kinzie of Bennet, Mark (Andrea) Keim of Lincoln; grandchildren Brian Keim of Kansas City, Becky (Mark) Beerenstrauch of Las Vegas, Tim (Abbey) Keim of Syracuse, Dan (Collette) Kinzie of Kearney, Tyler Kinzie of Bennet, Joel Keim of Syracuse, Eva, Lily and Evan Keim of Lincoln; great grandchildren Loey, Stella, Charlie, Jackson, Adalynn and Ellie; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband LeRoy, siblings Elmer, Clarence, Ervin and Ralph, an infant brother and a nephew.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 9 at 10:30 a.m. at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse. The service will be livestreamed on the Luther Memorial Church, NE YouTube page. Burial will follow at the Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 8 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home in Syracuse.
Memorials are suggested to the Luther Memorial Church or Syracuse Rescue Squad.
