Frances D. Lenz, 95 of Elmwood was born on August 23, 1921 to John & Anna (Mickelson) Petersen in Lincoln, NE. She passed away on January 2, 2017 at Sumner Place in Lincoln.

Frances married Orville W. Lenz on September 22, 1946 in Lincoln and to this union they raised 4 children: Mariane, Velda, Coleman & Thomas. She loved traveling and started her own tour group with Orville called Yesterday's Kids. They traveled to Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, Colorado and the most popular destination was Branson. Frances worked for 20 years selling concessions at the University of Nebraska sporting events and also catered lunches at farm sales and many other activities. She enjoyed time outside especially mowing her yard.

Frances is survived by her Children: Mariane (Mike) Hansen of Bloomington, MN, Velda (Larry) Ferguson of McCook, NE, Coleman (Deb) Lenz of Elmwood, Thomas Lenz of Elmwood; 9 Grandchildren; 21 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband: Orville, Sisters: Rose, Anne, Claudine, Mariane, Virginia, Brother: Paul.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Elmwood. Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4 from 1 P.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
