Fritz (Fred) Henry Lutjemeyer, 87, died February 13, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center, Syracuse, Nebraska.
Born July 7, 1923 in Otoe, Nebraska to William and Emma (Rohlfs) Lutjemeyer. On September 7, 1945 married Ruby Buchholz at First Lutheran Church (North Branch) Avoca by the Reverend George Bergstraesser.
Fred was a life long member of the First Lutheran Church (North Branch) Avoca where he was baptized August 12, 1923 and confirmed May 30, 1937. Fred lived on the family farm near Otoe until his semi-retirement in 1990. Fred and Ruby were the third of five generations to live on Lutjemeyer Farms and received the Aksarben Nebraska Pioneer Farm Family Award in 1993.
Survived by wife of 65 years, Ruby, son Lawrence and wife Vicki Lutjemeyer, Otoe, daughters and husbands Shirley and Moose Bernt, Seward, Bev and Bill Fischer, Elmwood. Grandchildren: Chris and Nicky Lutjemeyer, Craig and Stacy Lutjemeyer, Cindi Lutjemeyer, Chad Lutjemeyer, Brian and Nikki Bernt, Duane and Mandy Bernt, Michelle and Paul Keller. Great-grandchildren: Lani Lutjemeyer, Amanda Mason, Breanna, Chaney and Riley Bernt, Chase, Blake and Traye Bernt and great-great-grandson Dalton Cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin brother and sister an infant daughter, Donna Rae.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 17 at 10:30am at First Lutheran Church (North Branch rural Avoca. Visitation: Wednesday, February 16 at funeral home from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m with family greeting from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Pallbearers are grandsons: Chris, Craig and Chad Lutjemeyer, Brian and Duane Bernt and Paul Keller. Honorary Pallbearers are granddaughters: Cindi, Nicky and Stacy Lutjemeyer, Nikki and Mandy Bernt and Michelle Keller, great grandchildren and great-great grandson.
