Fredric A. Schutz was born on March 1, 1932 in Avoca, Nebraska to Joyce and Lora (Haveman) Schutz. He passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse at the age of 78 years, 5 months, and 10 days.

Fredric was united in marriage on March 27, 1953 to Verena Kempke at St. John's Lutheran Church in Otoe, NE.

He worked as a Farmer, Rural Water District Manager and worked at Mahoney State Park. He enjoyed going to sales, woodworking, fishing, dancing and was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Massie Richards Post #100 and Mid Otoe County V.F.W. #5547.

Fredric is survived by wife: Verena of Unadilla; sons: Steven Schutz of Unadilla; Dennis and Connie Schutz of Syracuse; grandchildren: Stephanie and husband David Stolley; Duffy, Autumn, Heath Schutz; 5 Great Granddaughters; brother Jim and Linda Schutz of Avoca; brother-in-law Maynard and Velda Kempke of Syracuse, Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Lutheran Church, (North Branch), rural Avoca, NE, burial at the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Lutheran Church.
