The sun set on Gary G. Kepler's life in Avoca on Saturday February 13, 2016 at the age of 60 years after a battle with cancer. Gary was born on July 25, 1955 to Edward & Helen (Harms) Kepler in Syracuse, NE.

Gary married Marsha Henne on August 10, 1974 at Christ Lutheran Church (Delaware) and to this union they were blessed with Rachel & Nickolas. He worked as the Elevator Operator in Avoca. He was the Past Chief of the AVFD and member for over 20 years.

Gary is survived by his Wife: Marsha Kepler of Avoca; Daughter: Rachel (Chad) Schinstock of West Point, NE; Son: Nickolas (Molly) Kepler of Chicago, IL; Grandchildren: Jenna & Dylan Schinstock, Annelise & Nickolas Kepler; Brother: Boyd Kepler; Mother-in-law: Lenora Henne; Sister-in-law: Donetta (Lee O) Thomas; Brother-in-law: Marty Henne.

He was preceded in death by his Parents: Ed & Helen Kepler; Brother: Bruce; Father-in-law: Don Henne; Nephew: Austin Thomas.

Visitation will be held on Friday February 19, 2016 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 4-6 P.M. with a prayer service at 5:30 P.M. all at the funeral home in Syracuse. Casual dress is recommended.

Food and Refreshments will be served at the Avoca Town Hall immediately following the prayer service.

Memorials are suggested to the Avoca Volunteer Fire Department.
