Gary W. Morrison, 78 of Syracuse passed away on April 18, 2022, at the Syracuse Hospital. He was born on March 10, 1944, in Salina, KS to Wayne & Ethel (McDiffit). Gary joined the Navy 1962 and worked with the Navy Seals during Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1966.

On November 7, 2001, Gary married Penny DeMoss in Nebraska City. He owned and drove for his own trucking company called Morrison Trucking. Gary loved being with his family when he was home.

He is survived by his wife Penny Morrison; daughter Kandy Baxter; stepdaughter Cassandra Stanek; grandchildren Cody Morrison, Sonya (Josh) Thomas, Brandon, Montana, Nicholas & Alexis Thies; great grandchildren Camila Morrison, Avalon Thomas, Rexius Thomas; siblings Dave (Penny) Morrison, Sandy Brockman; also many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and great grandson Tobias Morrison.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 27 at 1 p.m. at the Omaha National Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed on the Fusselman Facebook page.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.
