Gary W. Zech was born on July 25, 1950 in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Arthur & Catherine (Sand) Zech. He passed away on Friday, February 5, 2010 at Bryan LGH Medical Center West in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 59 years, 6 months and 10 days.

Gary is a life long resident of Douglas, Nebraska. He was currently working as a self-employed Antique Dealer, however he had previously worked as a brick layer, electrician, county road worker and a former employee of Enron.

Gary was an avid animal lover and an excellent dog trainer. His interests included working with wood and helping and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Zech of Douglas, NE; sister, Julie Adams and husband Ron Nishimura of Long Beach, CA; sister, Linda Zech of Douglas, NE; sister, Mary Jo Pankoke of Lincoln, NE: sister, Barba Leising and husband Steve of Roca, NE; brother, Tom Zech and wife Becky of Eagle, NE: brother, David Zech of Douglas, NE. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Zech.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 10th at 10:30 A.M. at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Douglas, Nebraska with Father Christopher Barak officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, February 8th from Noon until 9:00 P.M. and Tuesday, February 10th from 9:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 9th at 7:00 P.M. at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Douglas.

NOTE: The casket will be closed for the Rosary and the Funeral Mass, the only viewing will be at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in St. Martin's Cemetery in Douglas, NE.
