Gene West was born on May 1, 1922 in Unadilla, Nebraska to George and Lessie (Luff) West. He passed away on Friday, October 8, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 5 months, and 7 days.

Gene married Berdean Stoner on November 23, 1942 in Nebraska City, Nebraska. To this union, they raised 4 children – Sandi, Beverly, Michael, and Tim. Gene was a farmer, grocery store owner and owned the Unadilla Dairy Queen. Gene raised many different types of animals through his life.

Gene is survived by his wife Berdean West, children – Sandi and husband Kieth Kimbell, Bev and husband Dan Crownover, and Michael West—all of Unadilla. 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and sister Nyla and husband Gayle Lorenson of Syracuse. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, brother - Burt West, son- Tim West, and grandson – Christopher Remington.

Honorary Pallbearers are Scott Remington, Andrew Kimbell, Todd Crownover, Stacy Goes, Jodie Vallish, Karla Burkman, Abby Snodgrass, and Michael West, Junior.

Memorial Services for Mr. West will be Friday, October 15th at 11:00 AM at the Christian Church in Unadilla. The Family suggests memorials to the Families Choice.
