George H. Hornby was born, May 14, 1910, on the farm near Walton, Nebraska, to John and Martha (Handrock) Hornby. He passed away, Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at Goldcrest Nursing Home in Adams, Nebraska, at the age of 98 years, 2 months, and 15 days.


George lived and worked the farm with his family most of his life, he married LoRainne Schell, on March 4, 1974, and she was the love of his life. Loved Cats, and to Dance, (where he meet LoRaine, at a Dance), telling Jokes, and reading. Younger days, he raised Cattle, Crops, and Hogs.

George is survived by his Step-son Kenneth Wendt, of Lincoln, NE, Niece Eula Schidler, Nephews, Jack Hornby, of Kalispell, MT, Ken Hornby, of Gainesville, FL, and Warren Brashear, Gering, NE

George is preceded in Death by his parents, John and Martha Hornby, wife LoRaine (1998) brothers John, Elmer, Clarence, and Harry

Funeral service will be Friday, August 1, 2008, at 10:00 A.M. at the Fusselman Wymore Funeral Chapel, 644 Park Street, Syracuse, NE And burial at Park Hill Cemetery, Syracuse, Nebraska. Family Suggests Memorials To Goldcrest Nursing Home, Adams, NE

VISITATION: Thursday, July 31, 2008 from Noon until 9 P.M.
