George L. Pokett age 82, of Louisville, Nebraska, who passed away Monday, August 3, 2009 at Veterans Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska.
George was born March 29, 1927, in Dow City, Iowa, to Donald and Helen (Shaefer) Pokett. He married Betty Lynn Kilpatrick, on November 1, 1950, in Superior, Montana, and to this union they raised a daughter. He served in the Army, 11TH Air Born, and later worked as a Coal Miner in his younger days, Construction of the Eisenhower Tunnel, at Loveland Pass.
George is survived by his daughter, Georgia & husband Ken Long Jr., of Papillion, Nebraska, grandchildren Kenya Long & fiancé Randy Ressen, of Papillion, Nebraska, Kenny "Wally" & wife Erin Long of San Jose, California, great grandchildren Alex, Ashley, and Andrew, and one on the way, 2 sisters, Dorothy Jenkins, of Montrose, Colorado, and Sharon DeMers, of Deer Lodge, Montana, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
George is preceded in death by his parents Donald & Helen Pokett, stepfather Clarence Bauer, George's wife Betty, brothers Curtis, Jack, Donny, and Earl.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, August 8th, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., at the Fusselman Wymore Funeral Chapel, 413 Elm Street, Louisville, Nebraska
Visitation will be Friday, August 7th, 2009 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M
