George E. Ullsperger was born on March 14, 1918 in Coleridge, Nebraska to Wenzl and Mary (Knoll) Ullsperger. He passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 6 months and 15 days.
George was united in marriage on September 18, 1939 in Palmyra, Nebraska to Dorothy Hopp and to this union was born three children, Marlene, Geraldine and Vincent. George was a farmer by trade, and was very proud of the farm that he owned. Later in his life he would travel around the area helping farmers by sharpening the blades on their discs.
He was a member of St. Paulinus Catholic Church, and in his free time, he enjoyed playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ullsperger of Syracuse, NE; daughters, Marlene Weiler of Syracuse, NE and Geraldine Pufpaff and husband Donald of Colorado Springs, CO; 6 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, sister, Geneva Pratt of Utica, NE and brother, Harold Ullsperger of Lincoln, NE. He is also survived by many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Vincent Leroy Ullsperger, sisters, Anne Straub and Irene Schumacher, brothers, Edward Ullsperger and Albert Ullsperger and one infant great grandchild.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 3, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Paulinus Catholic Church with Father Michael Stec officiating.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 2nd from 11:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary Service at 7:00 P.M. all at the Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home in Syracuse, Nebraska.
Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Syracuse, Nebraska.
