Gerald Kupke was born on Saturday, June 24, 1933 to August and Pauline (Vogler) Kupke, in Murdock, Nebraska. He died on June 11, 2014 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center, Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 80 years, 11 months, and 18 days.
Gerald served his country in the Army from 1953-1955. After discharge from the army, he worked at Ash Grove Cement Plant in Louisville. Gerald was a carpenter by trade. Gerald was active in his community. He served as the Weeping Water American Legion Commander, was a bus driver and a school custodian for 11 years. Gerald was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and in 1980 transferred his membership to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Weeping Water. He was a Sunday School teacher and held several Church offices. Gerald enjoyed yard work, and bowling.
Gerald is survived by his sisters- Margaret (Myron) Shavlik, of Riverton, Wyoming, and Helen (Rodney) Mather of Weeping Water, Nebraska, an Aunt Betty Vogler along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Pauline (Vogler) Kupke, infant brother, brother Norman and sister Lucille Marie.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 14th at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 607 South Randolph Street, Weeping Water, Nebraska with burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at 1:00 PM.

Visitation will Friday, June 13 from 1 until 9 PM, with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM, all at the funeral home.
