Glen John Hansen age 81 of Syracuse, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, Nebraska.  He was born on June 20, 1936 in Omaha, Nebraska to John Henry and Lora Dora (Turtscher) Hansen.

Glen grew up in the Papillion, Nebraska area and graduated from Papillion High School.  At age 18, he enlisted in the United State Navy and served from 1955 until being honorably discharged in 1958.  He and Lois Ann Sautter were united in marriage on October 12, 1957 and together they raised four children, Dennis, Duane, Yvonne and Rhonda.

He spent the majority of his life buying and selling cattle.  His job quickly became his hobby and he would attend as many as six sales each week throughout the Midwest.  He was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church and the Massie Richards Post #100 American Legion both in Syracuse.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Hansen of Syracuse, NE; children, Dennis (Tammy) Hansen of Syracuse, NE, Duane (Allyson) Hansen of Syracuse, NE, Yvonne Hansen & Dr. Diana Cantu of San Diego, CA, grandchildren, Dawn Hansen, Colton (Melanie) Hansen, Morgan (Lee) Buchholz, brother, Roger (Nancy) Hansen of Georgetown, UT, sister, Jane (Carlton) Kroese of Mico, TX, nieces, nephews and beloved dog, Mandy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Rhonda Lynn

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse, NE  with Rev. Sarah Cordray officiating.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 9:00 AM until 9:00 PM with family greeting friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Syracuse Rescue Squad or Luther Memorial Church.
