Glen Edward Schliefert age 86 of Louisville, Nebraska passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at the Louisville Care Center. He was born on July 31, 1936, in Omaha, Nebraska to Melvin and Frances (Wiles) Schliefert.
His family attended Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. He attended Louisville High School and graduated in 1954. Following high school, he attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for two years. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Wiesneth on April 12, 1958, in Hastings, Nebraska, together they raised two sons, Guy and Brian. On November 16, 2002, he married Linne Beck in Louisville.
Glen served in the Nebraska Air National Guard for six years. He was an avid rodeo fan, traveling to Oklahoma City, Las Vegas, NV, Calgary AB, Canada, Pendleton, OR and Cheyenne, WY in addition to all local competitions. He enjoyed sharing his love of rodeo and quarter horses with his sons and grandkids. He also enjoyed international travel, visiting six foreign countries. He was a steamfitter/welder working for Armour and Company and Omaha Public Power District.
He is survived by his wife, Linne Schliefert of Springfield, NE, sons, Guy (Carol) Schliefert, Louisville, NE and Brian Schliefert of Louisville, NE, stepsons, Michael (Jona) Beck of Murray, NE, Daniel (Julianna) Beck of Louisville, NE and Timothy (Tina) Beck of Louisville, NE, 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, brother, Carl (Marilyn) Schliefert of Papillion, NE, sister, Janet Schliefert of Broomfield, CO. He is also survived by one niece, one nephew, many professional horse friends and coworker steamfitters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, David Beck.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, Louisville, NE with Pastor Jon Sollberger officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the service in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
