Obituary

Glen William Stubbendick, age 88, of Syracuse passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, Nebraska.

Glen was born on January 6, 1925 in rural Avoca, Nebraska to Henry & Clara (Hauschild) Stubbendick.

Glen married Margaret Berner on June 5, 1946 at First Lutheran Church and to this union they raised 6 children. Glen was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church and loved his Church. He was known for being a loving and gentle husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Margaret, Children: Suzy Palmer (Bill), Barbara Lamb (Ken), Mary Parker (Brad), David Stubbendick (Robyn), Ann McCarthy (Dave), Daughter-in-law: Moreen Stubbendick, Grandchildren: Stacey Carnazzo (Andrew), Brian Palmer, Ryan Stubbendick (Jacki), Mitchell Stubbendick (Kelsey), Matthew Glen (Lisa), Kelly Stephenson (Craig), Kyle Parker (Emily), Travis Parker, Joshua Glen Stubbendick (Amanda), Hillary Stubbendick, John Stubbendick, Megan McCarthy, Alec McCarthy, 16 Great Grandchildren, Brother: Ralph (Jane), Brothers-in-law: Roy Berner (Imo), Ellis Liesemeyer, Sister-in-law: Pauline Hauschild (Allen).

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Gene, brothers Dale & Earl, sisters: Sophie Ruge & Janet Liesemeyer.

Funeral services will be held on Monday April 8th at 10:30 A.M. at First Lutheran Church with Rev. William Dressen officiating.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. and Sunday from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 3 to 5 P.M. at the funeral home on Sunday.

The family suggests memorials to the South Sudan Water Project or First Lutheran Church.
