Hans Sauberzweig was born February 28, 1929 in Macklin Sasktchewan, Canada to Rev R. M. & Lydia (Trautrims) Sauberzweig. He passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Community Memorial Hospital, Syracuse, Nebraska at the age of 82 year, 3 months, and 13 days.

He married Joann Roettger, on December 21, 1952, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Otoe, Nebraska, and to this union they raised 3 children Martin, Kevin, and Lisa. Hans was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church on April 2 1944. He graduated from Otoe High School in May 21, 1948, and then attended Electronic Institution in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked in Cedar Rapids, IA, before joining the United States Air Force in 1951 and was discharged in 1954. He worked for Staack Radio & TV in Otoe, Nebraska from January 1, 1955 until December 1991. Hans was a 48 year member of Massie-Richards American Legion Post #100, of Syracuse, NE. He was on the Otoe Volunteer Fire Department, served on the Otoe School Board, and was a member of Otoe Village Board. He served on the St. Johns Church Council, and was a Sunday School Superintendent and teacher.

Hans is survived by his wife Joann, of 58 1/2 years, of Otoe, NE, son Kevin & wife Kris Sauberzweig, of Gretna, NE, daughter Lisa & husband Rick Spidell, of Otoe, NE 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, sister Margaret & husband Glen Copes, of Lincoln, NE

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Martin.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 14th, 2011, at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Otoe, NE, with burial in the Otoe Cemetery. Family Suggests Memorials to the St. John's Lutheran Church, Otoe, NE
