Harlan Dean Sears was born on the family farm near Cook, Nebraska, on September 9, 1932, to Charles & Maude (Marshall) Sears. He left us on Saturday, February 25, 2012 while staying at Tabitha's Journey House, in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 79 years, 5 months, and 16 days.
Harlan married Gloria Mae Hervey, on June 21, 1952, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and to this union they raised 2 children Brad & SueLynn. He joined the Army and retired after 20 some years, after which he worked as an Auto Mechanic in Lincoln and Douglas, Nebraska. Harlan loved to play pitch and was known to go gambling all over.

son Brad Sears, of Palm Bay Florida, daughter SueLynn Hampton, of Lincoln, NE, grandson Justun (spelled tun instead of tin), Hampton, of Nebraska City, NE, granddaughter Jennifer (Adam) Rivenbark, of San Antonio TX, sisters June Hogard, of Midwest City, OK, Vivian Petersen, of Fremont, NE, and Helen Linn, of Auburn, NE
Harlan is preceded in Death by his parents, wife Gloria (2001), sisters Pearl Tucker & Elizabeth Lunsford, brothers Charles, Warren, Russell, Robert, and Johnnie.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, February 28, 2012, at 11:00 A.M. at Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Chapel, 644 Park Street, Syracuse, NE, with Lunch following the Chapel Service and Graveside services will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Douglas Nebraska at 2:00 P.M. VISITATION will be Monday February 27, 2012 from 12 P.M. until 9 P.M. at the funeral home.
