Harland R. Stoner was born on February 3, 1919 in Unadilla, Nebraska to Herman and Ruby Mae (West) Stoner. He passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Bryan LGH Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 88 years.
He attended school in the Unadilla area and graduated from Unadilla High School. He was united in marriage on March 7, 1941 to Clara Pieper in Cook, Nebraska. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Harland worked of O.P.P.D. for 37 1/2 years as a Working Foreman Lineman.
He was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Massie Richards Post #100 American Legion, Mid Otoe County V.F.W. #5547 all of Syracuse. Harland enjoyed bowling, football and sports in general and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his Wife: Clara Stoner of Syracuse, NE: Sons: Charles Stoner and wife Diane of Nebraska City, NE; Ronald Stoner and wife Christie of Lincoln, NE; Daughters: Dona Mae Fisher and husband Ronald of Johnson, NE; Linda Hoover of Humbolt, NE; Barbara Harris and husband David of Table Rock, NE; Debra Lamblin and husband Eric of Syracuse, NE. Eleven Grandchildren, Nine Great Grandchildren, 3 brothers, 3 sisters and many friends.
Harland was preceded in death by his Parents, brothers: Earl & Harvey, Son-in-law: Lee Hoover
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Syracuse, Nebraska with Rev. Paul Coen officiating.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 10th from Noon until 9:00 P.M., Sunday, February 11th from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Interment will be in the Park Hill Cemetery in Syracuse, Nebraska
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association or the Kidney Foundation.
