Obituary

Harold Lane Brugman went to his eternal home on June 26, 2007. He was born to Roy and Nellie Brugman on August 27, 1925 on a farm near Douglas, Nebraska. Harold was baptized and confirmed at the Douglas United Methodist Church. He was united in marriage to Ardys Hunt on August 14, 1947.
Harold farmed near and around Douglas his entire life. For many years Harold had a purebred Guernsey Grade A dairy herd operation. He was active on the Douglas Community School board, Otoe County Extension Board, Nebraska State Extension Advisory Board, Rural Fire Department, Mid-American Milk Association, Lincoln Continentals and the Douglas United Methodist Church. With wife Ardys, he received the Nebraska Farm Family Award in 1979.
God blessed Harold with a beautiful voice. Harold started as a small child singing. He shared his voice thru singing at weddings, funerals and community events. He gave comfort to grieving families thru his singing at funerals at the age of 14. He loved the fellowship and singing with the Lincoln Contientals Barbershoppers for over 20 years.
Harold is survived by his wife, Ardys; daughters and son-in-law Moya and Greg Peters of DeWitt, Nebraska, Vicki and Mark Herman of Overland Park, Kansas, son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Beverly Brugman of Douglas, Nebraska, seven grandchildren, Mickella Pihlgren, Alicia and husband Chris McCune, Christopher and wife Kimberly Peters, Maggie and Sarah Herman, Charlotte and husband Mitch Greenwall and Lucas Brugman, Five great grandchildren, Garrett, Alaina and Sophia Pihlgren, Rylee McCun and Ellie Peters. Brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence and Goldie Brugman of Austin, Texas, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Clyde and Ina Hunt of West Palm Beach, Florida, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Brugman of Lincoln, Nebraska.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Nellie Brugman, brothers, Lloyd and Clyde, sisters, Vera Sugden and Dorothy Doran.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Douglas United Methodist Church with Rev. Lyn Seiser officiating.

Private family burial will be held at a later date in the Rosehill Cemetery in Douglas, Nebraska.

Visitation to sign the register book will be Thursday, June 28th from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. and Friday, June 29th from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.

Memorials are suggested to the Rosehill Cemetery, Douglas United Methodist Church or the Lincoln Continentals.
