Harriet M. Bruns, 87 of Syracuse passed away on Friday June 19, 2015 at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center. She was born on August 21, 1927 to Harry & Matilda (Reuter) Ross in Otoe, Nebraska.

Harriet married Calvin D. Bruns on July 25, 1949 in Marysville, Kansas. She worked as a seamstress for many years and also taught school. Harriet was involved in the ELCW and Syracuse Hospital Auxiliary.

Harriet is survived by her Daughter: Susan (Duane) Hopp, Sons: Dan (Elaine) Bruns, Jack Bruns, Larry (Mary Ann) Swanson, Grandchildren: David Hopp, Kris Goering, Ryan Bruns, Chad Bruns, Matt Swanson, Angie Ways, 10 Great Grandchildren, sisters-in-law: Helen Aden, Pauline Peterson & Rachel Ross, also many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents: Harry & Matilda, Husband: Calvin, Daughter: Vickie, Brother: Arlen Ross and Brothers-in-law: Paul Aden, Dwight Peterson, Ernie (Delores) Bruns & Maynard (Geraldine) Bruns.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 22, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Otoe, NE.

Burial will be at the Otoe cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday June 21 from 1 P.M. until 5 P.M. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

The family suggests memorials to the family's choice.
