Harvey Herman Henke was born on August 17, 1922 at home to Lenard & Emma(Wellensiek) Henke. He passed away on November 19, 2011 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, NE. He married Elizabeth Schweppe on October 15, 1950 at Osage Church, Cook, NE.

He began farming after 8th grade and farmed his whole life. He belonged to St. John's U.C.C. and received the Nebraska 100 year farm award in 2006.

He is survived by son Dale and wife Pam, Syracuse, daughter Lois and husband John, Lincoln. Grandchildren, Jodi & Nicholas Evans, Stacy & Chris Salvadori, Suzy & Shawn Dean, Scott Sawyer. Great-grandchildren, Julia & Ethan Dean, Zachary & Meredith Salvadori, Christopher Dean, Alyssa & Mike Fordham. Great-great grandson, Tristan.

Proceeded in death by parents & wife Elizabeth in 1975, sister Ruth Niedermeyer, infant sister, nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday November 22, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at St. John's United Church of Christ in Syracuse.

Visitation will be Monday from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6 until 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
