Hazel N. Heinke, 81, Talmage, formerly Lincoln; died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008, at her home. She was born Jan. 11, 1927, at Valparaiso, daughter of John B. and Rose (Nelson) Erickson. She married Gilbert Roland Heinke Jan. 28, 1994, at Zion United Church of Christ, Talmage.
A homemaker, Heinke was also a machinist at Gould, a medical transcriber and retired from Wheatons, Syracuse. She was a member of the PTA, Zion United Church of Christ where she was a member of Ladies Aide and was proud of being 100 percent Swedish.
Surviving are her husband, Gilbert, Syracuse; daughter, Eileen Miller and husband Ken, Ulysses; son, Harland Nelson and wife Sandy, Ulysses; stepdaughter, Connie Hynek and husband Bob, stepson, Roger Heinke and wife Marge, all Talmage; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Sayles and husband Russell; Doris Westbrook; a brother, Delmar Erickson; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded by her parents; son, Clarence Nelson; daughter, Vera Nelson; her first husband, Ralph Nelson; two brothers, Vernon and Bill Erickson; and sisters, Velma Sperl, Grace House, Laura Lee Gade and Lida Williams.
Services will be Saturday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, Talmage. The Rev. Charlene Wozny officiated. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, 84th and Adams St., Lincoln.
Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. at Fusselman-Wymore Funeral Home, Syracuse. Family members will greet friends from 6-8 p.m.
