Hazel Steinhoff was born on June 5, 1915, in Syracuse, NE to Rudolph D. Sugden and Elizabeth (Jacobs) Sugden. She passed away on Friday April 15, 2011 at Syracuse Good Samaritan Center, at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 5 days.

Hazel married Edwin A. Steinhoff on April 17, 1938 in Papillion, Nebraska. To this union they had 3 children Phyllis, Kathy and Edwin Jr. Hazel went to Peru State College and received her Teaching Certificate and taught District 94 Arbor Grove. She was also a member of the Community Hospital Legion Aux, Hospital Aux, Delivered Meals on Wheels, Taught Sunday School, North Branch Sewing Club and North Branch Card Club.

She is survived by her daughters Phyllis (Ed) Mueller, of Lincoln, NE, Kathy (Roger) Royal, Syracuse, NE, and son Edwin Jr. (Ronda) Steinhoff, of Syracuse, NE, 8 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandson

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edwin, sisters Pansy, Sylvia, Daisy, Irene, Fay, and infant sister Cora Lee, brothers Frank and Ted, and infant Great Grandson

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 10:30 A.M. at the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Syracuse, Nebraska with burial at Park Hill Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to Families Choice.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 5 until 9 P.M. and Monday April 18, from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. all at the Funeral Home.
