Helen Rose (Hahn) Barkhurst was born July 23, 1921 in Unadilla, Nebraska to William and Rosa (Johnson) Hahn. She died at her home in Louisville Nebraska on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the age of 95 years, 4 months, and 6 days.

Helen was a seamstress for Midlands Garment Factory in Nebraska City, Nebraska during the war. She married Frank Barkhurst on June 1, 1946, in Nebraska City, Nebraska and to this union they raised Russell, Donald, and Linda.

She enjoy playing scrabble, gardening, sewing, crafting, along with babysitting

Helen is survived by her daughter Linda (Barkhurst) Gray and son Russell Barkhurst, and grandchildren Michelle (David) Werth, Jennifer Singer, Russell (Laney) Barkhurst, Jr., Edward (Dalene) Barkhurst, Amanda (Tony) Cardenas, Brian Barkhurst, and great grandchildren Codi, Austin, and Mackenzie Werth, Jeremiah Williams, Chloe Barkhurst, Georgia Cardenas, Layne Albertsen, Caleb, Keira, and August Barkhurst.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents William and Rosa Hahn, husband Frank in 1977, brother Garold Hahn, son and daughter-in-law Don and Nancy (Shiley) Barkhurst, granddaughter Lora, and son-in-law Mike Gray.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 2, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Fusselman Allen Harvey Funeral Chapel 413 Elm, Louisville, Nebraska, with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Family suggest memorials to Louisville Rescue Squad.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 6:00 until 9:00 P. M. with family greeting friends, all at the funeral home
