Helen Lucile (Blum) Knop was born August 18, 1926 to William and Christine (Christenson) Blum in Alvo, Nebraska. She passed away on June 27, 2016 in Arvada, Colorado. She grew up on a farm in South Bend, Nebraska, attending a two room grade school in South Bend. Since it was before consolidated schools and bus routes, she lived with an aunt and attended Schuyler High School for her freshman year, then returned home and graduated from Murdock High School. After attending Concordia Teachers College in Seward in 1944, she accepted a call to teach at Immanuel Lutheran School, Charter Oak, Iowa.

God's hand in her life was very evident during these years. It was war time and she returned to Nebraska to help on the farm and teach in South Bend. In 1947, she was called back to Immanuel at Charter Oak and taught another two years. On August 15, 1948 she was united in marriage to Earl Paul Knop at Trinity Lutheran Church in Murdock. To this union were born three children: Gary, Nancy, and Vickie. They lived in the Murdock area for over fifty years, where they owned and operated E&H Service Garage and E&H Grain Hauling. After retiring, they moved to Syracuse, NE.

Helen is survived by her Daughters: Nancy (Mike) Bennett of Arvada, CO, Vickie Piner of Denver, CO; Son: Gary (Donnita) Knop of Wichita Falls, TX; 3 Grandchildren: Brian, Brenda, Adriana. Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, husband Earl, brother Herbert Blum.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 5, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church at Murdock. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday July 3rd from 2 P.M. until 5 P.M. with family greeting friends at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or Alzheimer's Association.
