Helen Tuning, age 95, of Syracuse, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center, in Syracuse. She was born on August 19, 1912, in Arcadia, Nebraska, to Samuel E. and Katherine (Pflaster) Brown.
Helen married Arnold E. Tuning, and to this union they had 6 children, Dennis, Robert, Bill, Jim, Pam, and David. She worked in the Arcadia Grocery Store, and served as a School Bus Driver. After moving to Lincoln she worked for Russell Stover Candy. Helen was a member of Eastern Star, since April, 1946. She was a 4H leader, and loved to play cards.
Helen is survived by her son Bill Tuning, of Lincoln, NE, son - Jim and wife Deloris (Ann) Tuning, of Centralia, WA, daughter, Pam and husband Dale Henke, of Syracuse, NE, and son David and wife Donna, of Goldendale, WA, 8 grandchildren
William Tuning, Michelle Tuning, Stacy Sawyer, Suzanne Sawyer, Scott Sawyer, D.J. Tuning, Douglas Tuning, and James Tuning, 6 great
grandchildren, along with nieces, and nephews.
Helen was preceded in Death by parents, and husband, Arnold, 2 sons, Dennis Dale,
and Robert Allen, brothers, Harry, Jack, Robert, and sisters Sophie, Kathleen, Carolene, and Roejean.
Locally there will be visitation Wednesday, April 30, 2008 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M., with the family greeting friends, from 6 until 8 P.M. at the Fusselman Wymore Funeral Home in Syracuse.
Thursday, May 1st, 2008, at 1:00 P.M. there will be Graveside Services for Helen at the Arcadia Cemetery, Arcadia, Nebraska
