Funeral Services for Mr. Hopp are July 10, 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 36712 Church Road, Louisville, NE. Visitation will be at Church on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 1-9 pm with family present from 6-8 pm. Burial at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Herb Hopp was born on July 5, 1923 to Fred J. and Tille M. (Schroeder) Hopp in rural Louisville, Nebraska. He passed away on July 6, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 87 years and one day.
On February 3, 1952, Herb married Blanche Fairbrass at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Louisville, NE. To this union, two children were born – Kim and David. Herb was a life-long farmer and a Pioneer Seed Dealer for 42 years. He was one of the founding members of the Cornhusker Country Music Club thirty-three years ago. He served as chairman of the group since its beginning. Herb enjoyed playing guitar, mandolin, and harmonica. Herb liked hunting, and fishing, but especially enjoyed camping. He served on the Dutch Academy School Board for 17 years and was an Admiral in the Nebraska Navy.
Herb is survived by his wife – Blanche of Louisville, NE 2 children – Kim and husband Mike Scholting of Louisville, son – David Hopp of Louisville, Grandchildren – Andrea and husband Jason Emmons of Fremont, Brett Scholting of Springfield, Kelsie, Megan, and Mirissa Scholting of Louisville, and Great-grandson – Landon Emmons of Fremont and sister-in-law Ella Wittstruck of Omaha.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
