Herman Frederick Garhard Sickmann was born on October 31, 1914 at Phillipsburg, Kansas to Gottlieb Herman Sickmann and Mary Magdalena (Warnken) Sickmann. He passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the Louisville Care Center at the age of 98 years, 4 months, and 10 days.
Herman married Velma Dagmar June Borjeson on December 23, 1945 at Weeping Water, Nebraska. To this union, they raised two sons – Garrett and Roger. Herman was a dairy farmer. He was a member of Nebraska State Ayrshire Breeders Association, School Board Member of District 79, and a Member of Immanuel Lutheran Church
Surviving relatives include two sons - Garrett and wife, Elaine Sickmann of Louisville; Roger Sickmann of Omaha; 4 grandchildren – Nathan Sickmann and Deb Sass and daughter Cecelia Sass of Millard; Angela and husband Marshall Vogt of Elmwood, NE; Jake Sickmann and wife Jane of Omaha, and Joel Sickmann of Omaha; Great-grandchildren – Ella and Hudson Vogt of Elmwood.; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife – Velma, three brothers and four sisters
Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 10:30 A.M. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Louisville, Nebraska, with burial at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Family suggest to Immanuel Lutheran Church or St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
Visitation will be Friday, March 15, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family greeting friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. all at the Funeral Home.
