Howard Paul Jacobson, of Syracuse passed away, on Monday, December 22, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Center.
He was born on the family farm north of Syracuse, on August 3, 1915 to Frank and Ethel (Hopp) Jacobson. Howard and Anna Minderman were united in marriage, January 11, 1940 at the First Lutheran Church of Avoca, Nebraska. They lived on the farm until 1988 when they retired to Syracuse, Nebraska. Howard was a farmer who took pride in his work and worked long hours, but he always found time for his family. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards with friends, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church (North Branch), of Avoca, Nebraska where Howard and Anna were ground keepers for many years. Howard was a part 4-H leader and a member of the school board Dist#5.
Howard is survived by daughter Marilyn (Bill) Farmer of Syracuse, son H. LeRoy (JoAnn) Jacobson of Syracuse, 8 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren, his brother Joy and wife Ann, of Alabama, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceded in Death By his Parents, wife Anna in 1998, Brother Verne, and sister Florence.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 27, 2014, at 10:30 A.M. at First Lutheran Church (North Branch), 1434 North 30 Road, Avoca, Nebraska, with burial at First Lutheran Cemetery (North Branch). Memorials are suggested to the Families Choice.
VISITATION will be Friday December 26, 2014 from 9:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
