Irene Ladene Klingenberg was born January 2, 1916, in Cass County, Nebraska, to Otto & Mary (Schlueter) Rieckman. She passed away on June 30, 2012, in Swansea, Illinois, at the age of 96 years, 5 months, and 28 days.

Irene married Arlin Klingenberg, on June 28, 1953, in Murdock, Nebraska, and to this union they raised 2 children Dean and Diane. She worked as a Nurse, but loved her family, quilting, gardening, and raising flowers.

Irene is survived by her husband of 59 years: Arlin Klingenberg Son: Dean (Loretta) Klingenberg Daughter: Diane (Jerald) Campbell, 4 Grandchildren: Andrew Klingenberg, John (Chor) Campbell, Allison (David) Ziemann, Meredith Campbell, 2 Great-grandchildren: Anna Ziemann, Lily Ziemann, Sister-in-law: Iola Rieckman Several nieces and nephews

Irene is preceded in death by her Sister and brothers: Bernice Smith, Donald Rieckman, Merle Rieckman, Richard Rieckman


Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 511 7th Street, Syracuse, NE, with burial at Park Hill Cemetery, Syracuse, NE. Visitation will be Friday from 9-9, with family present from 4-7 at the funral home. Family suggests Memorials to St. John's UCC of Syracuse, or Community Memorial Hospital of Syracuse
