Irene was born June 27, 1923, in Sterling, Nebraska, to William and Mary (Monroe) Giesmann. She passed away, Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at Bryan LGH Hospital, at the age of 85 years, 6 months, and 3 days.

Irene married Orval Schulte, on December 17, 1944, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sterling, Nebraska. To this union they raised 2 daughter Linda Kay, and Lois Ann. Irene worked for Pendletons for 21 years, and was a member of V.F.W. Auxiliary, Bi-Centennial Club, and made her grandchildren, and great grandchildren, each an Afghan.

Irene is survived by her daughters Linda Bishop, of Kansa City, MO, and Lois Brandt and husband Charles, of Omaha, NE, grandchildren Jason Brandt, Dawn and Les Uthe, Lori and Daron Provin, Jennifer and Dan Carmichael, Ben and Stacey Humann, great grandchildren Braden Faith and Ellie Humann, Brock and Morgan Uthe, Elizabeth and Gabriel Provin, Chloe and Sadie Brandt, and Lily Carmichael, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wayne and Darlene Schulte.

Irene is preceded in death by her parents, husband Orval, 2006, 2 brothers Harvey Giesmann, and Arnold Giesmann, and sister Lydia Boslau.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 3 at 10:30 A.M. at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church 1130 Mohawk, Syracuse, Nebraska, with burial in Parkhill Cemetery. Family Suggests Memorials in lieu of flowers to the families choice.

A chance to sign the Register Book will be Friday from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M. at the Funeral Home but the Casket will be Closed. The Casket will be closed at the Church also.
