Irma E. Taylor, age 93, of Unadilla, Nebraska, died October 29, 2016. She had been a resident of Good Samaritan Society of Syracuse for four years.

Born December 18, 1922, to Herbert Cameron and Emma Holscher Cameron, Irma grew up on a farm near Burr, Nebraska, and graduated from Burr High School and Lincoln School of Commerce. For many years, she participated in the Burr High School's alumni reunions. She and her sister Ferne Cameron Carper (deceased 2016) walked to and from school for class and activities.

Irma worked for the American Red Cross in Lincoln, Nebraska, during World War II, and she later worked many years for the Nebraska Department of Veteran's Affairs, Lincoln.

In 1958, she married John Preston Taylor, Unadilla, who delivered U.S. mail more than 30 years for the rural community. They had two daughters, Nancy (Marc) Trowbridge, Houston, Texas and Beth (Doug) Hillman, Otoe, Neb., who survive. Other survivors are twin grandchildren Morgan Hansen, rural Avoca, and Colton Hansen, Cedar Creek, who were Irma's pride and joy. If you knew Irma, you also may recall she enjoyed recipes and making delicious salads, and desserts for gatherings.

After her husband's death she learned to drive, which allowed her to live independently in her Unadilla home for a couple of decades.

Irma was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Rural Mail Carriers Auxiliary and an active life member of the V.F.W Auxiliary.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 3 at 10:30 A.M. at the Unadilla United Methodist Church, 472 F. St. Burial will be at the Unadilla Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 2 from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. with family greeting friends from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home in Syracuse.

Memorials are suggested to the Unadilla United Methodist Church or the Unadilla Cemetery.
