Irvin R. Hauschild, 92, of Golden Living Center, Nebraska City died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City.
He was born April 23, 1917, in Papillion to Wiliam and Clara (Jansen) Hauschild.
On. Oct. 18, 1937, he married Helen L. Ziegenbein in Seward. She preceded him in death by just over a week, April 23, 2009.
Irvin served in the U.S. Army May 1945 – May 1946. He was a member of NFO (National Farmers Organization) and sold Dekalb seed corn. He enjoyed his livestock and going to livestock sales. In his earlier years, he often played cards with his brothers. His former place of residence was Weeping Water.
Survivors include his children: Kenny and Gladys Hauschild, Nehawka; Lois and Vern McCrory, Lincoln; Billy and Cheryl Hauschild, Weeping water; Betty and Bill Neumeister, Weeping Water; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Maragaret Otto, Ceresco; sisters-in-law, Fern Hauschild, Ashland, and Alvera Ziegenbein, Wahoo; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Freddi; brothers: Louis, Raymond and John Hauschild; sisters: Mabel Mills and Irene Campbell; several sisters- and brothers-in-law; and his wife.
Visitation: 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday, May 4, with family greeting relatives and friends from 6:30-8 p.m. at Fusselman-Wymore Funeral Home chapel in Weeping Water. Casket will be open one hour before church services Tuesday.
Funeral service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, at Immanuel Lutheran Church (Church Road), rural Louisville, with the Rev. John Cotton and the Rev. Jeff McDonald officiating. Organist: Diane Hartman. Vocalists: Lonnie Keene, Marcy Schmeider and Kerri Hogue will sing "A Closer Walk With Thee," "Near My God to Thee" and "How Great Thou Art."
Final resting place: 3:30 p.m. following lunch at the church, Oakwood Cemetery, Weeping Water, with full military rites performed by American Legion Post 237 of Weeping Water.
In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Weeping Water or the Weeping Water Rescue Squad.
