Ivan Bohlken was born November 11, 1928, in Talmage, Nebraska, to Jacob & Theresa (Wimberger) Bohlken. He passed Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital, in Nebraska City, NE.

Ivan married Hildegard Dopfner, on August 20, 1954, in Germany, and to this union they raised Angie, Mary, and Jim. He served in the United States Air Force, for 20 years and taught at many Rural Otoe County Schools. Swede enjoyed fishing, woodworking, traveling with old old Air Force buddy Paul and his family.

Ivan is survived by his children Angie Hansen & husband Andrew, of Junction City, OR, Mary Morris & husband Don, of Dunbar, NE, and Jim Bohlken & wife Dianne, of Lincoln, NE 5 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren, brothers Robert Bohlken & wife Mary, of Maryville, MO, Jack Bohlken & wife Barbara, of Nebraska City, NE, also by many other relatives & friends.

Ivan is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob & Theresa Bohlken, and his wife Hilde.

Funeral Services will be Monday, January 4th, 2010, at 11:00 A.M., at Zion United Church of Christ, in Talmage, NE, with burial at a later date. Family suggest Memorials to Talmage American Legion or the Talmage Rescue Squad.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 3rd from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the Family Greeting & Receiving family and friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at the Funeral Home, Syracuse, Nebraska.
