Jacqueline "Jackie" L. Wooster, 85 of Syracuse, was born on January 8, 1940, to John "Tuffy" & Margaret (Rampley) Twitchell in Sioux City, IA. She passed away on March 29, 2025, at Cedar Creek, a memory care center in Lincoln, where she lived since husband Jim's passing in August 2024. Jackie married James "Jim" L. Wooster on August 29, 1964, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury, IA.
Jackie received her registered nursing degree from St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing in Sioux City. She most recently served as the director of nursing at the Syracuse Good Samaritan Center for a number of years. Jackie was a member of St. Paulinus Catholic Church in Syracuse. She also loved fishing, quilting, crossword puzzles and watching sporting events.
She is survived by her children Jeff (Randy Greathouse) Wooster, Jennifer Wooster; brothers John (Karen) Twitchell, Joe (Bev) Twitchell, Jim Twitchell; also numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim and sister Judy (Kenny) Wessling.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury, IA. Burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Mapleton, IA.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 1 from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. with family greeting friends at the funeral home in Syracuse.
Memorials are suggested to University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Nursing.
